12 Principles of Animation Response
10 Famous Brands As Animated Logos
While finding inspiration for our upcoming logo project, I came across this video of logos turned into animations. Each one incorporates all, if not, most of the 12 principles. For example, the Dribble logo beginnings with a ball that arcs, squashes/stretches, and has a ease as it comes into frame. It consists of straight ahead action until the very end where the animation is staged so the entire, completed logo is visible. The Android animation also consists of squashing/stretching, along with a use of slight anticipation. Pose-to-pose is prevalent through the animation as well until the typography comes back into frame at the end. Alongside the principles mentioned so far, all of these logos have ideal timing and appeal that makes them all feel completed. Without these principles, the logos would lack "life" and feel very stagnant with no sense of personality. Using the 12 principles of animation is key to developing an animation that is successful.
