Motion Graphics Examples
Beyond Plastic
The Beyond Plastic organization is determined to create eco-responsible products and packaging that reduces single-use plastic. A yearly award is presented to those who have a successful idea, project, prototype, solution, etc. that encourages less plastic products and promotes a eco-friendly world. What struck me about this animated logo was not only the transitions but little details that added to the flow of the logo. The way the water bottle appears through a wave motion and hits the half circle - creating water droplets to disperse - added a special touch, and I thought were clever details. The remaining transitions are seamless, and the method of bringing out the text in the form of the circle really gives the animation a nice finish, allowing the viewer to see the completed logo before it repeats.
WATCH 2
I was unable to find any background information on the contents and purpose of this poster, but it caught my interest for a few reasons. I really love how playful the entire animation is, in terms of the color palette, transitions, contents, etc. I thought having the contents go from being 2D to 3D really brought it to life, especially when the "watch" breaks apart and unveils what appears to be building blocks in the letters. The flowing squiggly lines during this scene guides your eyes through the entire poster, allowing the viewer to notice all the movement occurring. The poster then comes to a finish with a square that condenses the text, allowing it to flow smoothly back to the beginning.
Super Clap
I found the motion graphics in this video to actually be more interesting than the dancing itself. The choreography is fairly simple, but the graphics help make it more appealing to watch and engage in in my opinion. The animation choices fit very well in conjunction with the dance moves, and the designer did a great job coming up with multiple different elements to incorporate. From adding in text that goes with the lyrics of the song to choosing motions/objects that transition perfectly with what the dancers are performing, this is something I could re-watch over and over again to see what I missed the first time.
