Composite Portrait & Sketches

The elements I find most interesting in this animation are the use of layers and how those layers match back up after completing their motion. I am not exactly sure how this was done, but I could potentially see myself using a effect like this in my project. These are all snippets of black and white film, and I like how there is a nice and even tonal range in the composition. I think I may do my animation all in black and white or half black and white, half color. Seeing this gives me an idea of how black and white layering could look together in terms of the video aspect. 

My plan is to incorporate myself along with geometry in my self portrait animation. Audio will be included, and I want various shapes to appear and react based off the movements I make. Attempting to draw out sketches was slightly challenging because until I pick an audio, I am not set on what motions will be occurring. Ultimately, the gestures and possible facial expressions I make will be based off of the music, so these are just a couple ideas of what could work with the song in specific parts.
