Assignment 3

 

For this assignment, I decided to do a spin off of my first project that was inspired by the Bauhaus and composed of geometric shapes. However, this time a song is included as well as myself. I knew I wanted to make the shapes appear, disappear, move, etc. based off the music and the gestures I am making. I did not want myself to be in the frame the entire minute which is why I am seen coming in and out at various times. As complex as my first assignment was, I wanted to keep this a little more simplified but still engaging enough. The only issue I ran into was the video clips of myself looking grainy and not super clear. I did film myself in the best lighting I had at the time, and the clips looked fine until I keyed out the background. Aside from that, no other issues came about but this also somewhat forced me to keep a black background the entire time (or at least the times I was not in frame). Anytime I put myself over a background that was not black, the quality looked even worse. Overall, I enjoyed putting this composition together and can see myself creating more geometric shape animations (probably without myself) in the future.
