"How Dave Hughes’ Adult Swim show became a haven for the world’s weirdest content" Reading Response
After reading this article, I defiantly gained further insight into Off the Air and Dave Hughes other Adult Swim series called Smalls. Previously, I knew what Adult Swim was, but I never knew about these specific early morning shows. What I really appreciated about this series was the fact that Hughes considered "lesser-known" animation from a variety of artists and aired their creations to "try out ideas and try out an artist who could work out for the network in other ways." This allowed really original and unique content/ideas to have a "voice" in a sense and inspire others who may have similar interests to chase their passion. I can tell based off of the provided videos that the animation is very "raw" in a sense and wasn't altered based on numerous opinions from a production team. Although some of the animations have a weird aura to them, they feel very nostalgic and are quite suitable for a early morning air time.
